Don't Vanish

"Don't Vanish" is an experimental narrative that explores themes of memory, identity, and digital preservation through a non-linear structure. The film follows Nora, who discovers that her recently deceased grandmother left behind hundreds of voice memos documenting her life—but with crucial gaps that reveal a complicated relationship with remembrance.

The visual language of the film incorporates multiple formats and textures, blending digital footage with analog elements to create a layered visual palette that reflects the fragmentary nature of memory. Sound design plays a crucial role, with the grandmother's voice memos serving as both narrative device and emotional counterpoint to the visuals.

As director, I approached this project as an exploration of how we curate our own histories and the tension between remembering and being remembered. The film deliberately challenges conventional narrative structure, inviting viewers to piece together the emotional truth of the relationship at its center.

"Don't Vanish" has been featured in experimental film programs and gallery installations, where its meditation on digital afterlives and familial legacy has resonated with audiences navigating similar themes in an increasingly documented world.
